Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data PolyShorts collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service.
What we collect
Account data: your email address, name (if you sign in with Google) and password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
Your content: the videos you upload or link, the transcripts, captions and clips we create, and your edits.
Billing data: your plan and subscription status. Card and UPI details are collected and stored by Dodo Payments, not by us.
Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address, browser and error reports) to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
To provide the service: processing your videos, creating clips, enforcing plan limits and showing you your projects.
To communicate with you about your account, security and important changes. We do not sell your data and do not use your videos to train AI models.
Service providers we use
Supabase (database and login), Backblaze B2 / Cloudflare R2 (file storage), Vercel (website hosting), Railway (video processing), Groq (speech-to-text), Google Gemini (choosing highlights and translating captions) and Dodo Payments (payments). They process data only on our instructions and to provide their service. Some are located outside India; we rely on their contractual and security safeguards.
How long we keep it
Original videos: deleted 7 days after processing. Clips, short segments around them, and transcripts: until you delete the project or your account. Account data: while your account is open, and afterwards only as long as legally required (for example, billing records).
Your rights
You can access, download and delete your projects in the app, and delete your account at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing us. Depending on where you live (for example under India's DPDP Act or the EU/UK GDPR) you may have further rights, including complaining to a data-protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, each user can only access their own projects (enforced in the database), and stored files are private and shared only through short-lived links.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
PolyShorts is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
